Start the Application Process

We are so excited that you are interested in a Worlds of Light adventure!  Here is an outline of our Application Process:

STEP ONE: Get to know the program
We can’t wait to travel with you!  We want you to feel comfortable, confident and excited about your adventure, and so we have included a ton of information about our trips in the program descriptions and the FAQs.  But a website can only go so far. If you have any questions, let us know.  We also can connect you with past participants (adults or students) who would be happy to talk to you and answer any questions you might have.

It is really important that we all understand what it means to travel on a Worlds of Light program.  As part of the application process you must familiarize yourself with our Community Understandings, and our Terms of Conditions.  You will be asked to check a box on the initial application indicating that you have read, understood and accept World’s of Light’s Terms and Conditions, and you will asked to comment on the Community Understandings. Please take a few minutes to read both documents thoroughly so that you are ready to apply.

When you are ready to apply, compete the initial application form (found below). These questions are designed to help us understand why you want to go on this adventure. We review applications on a rolling basis, and fill our teams as the right applicants apply.  If you have a deep curiosity about the world and are interested in a trip, we encourage you submit an application as soon as you can!

Once we receive your initial application, we will contact you to set up a time for us to talk over the phone or via Skype.  We consider this conversation an important step in the application process as it is an opportunity to for you to ask questions and for us to get to know you better.  For student travelers: after the interview, Worlds of Light will contact your parent/s to see if there are any remaining questions about the trip or the application process.

STEP THREE: Register and Submit Payment
When you receive an invitation to join a team, you need to do three things in order to reserve your spot: 1. submit your Registration Agreement, 2. submit your non-refundable deposit, and 3. return a Participant Questionnaire.  Your welcome letter will include a link to your Registration Agreement which contains a release and asks for health information about the traveler. (The Agreement must be completed by a parent if the traveler is a student.) Along with the Registration Agreement, Worlds of Light will provide instructions on how to submit payment for both the deposit and the balance of the program fee. Once the non-refundable deposit and all registration forms are received, your reservation is complete!

Make sure all your travel documents are in order, follow the packing list for your trip, and feel free to ask us questions along the way.
